Future Farming: A New Vision for the Country’s Industrial Relaunch

On December 6, 2024, at H-FARM’s Big Hall in Roncade (TV), Italy, we hosted “Future Farming: A New Vision for the Country’s Industrial Relaunch”—an event that marked the beginning of a new chapter for industry, agriculture, and technology.

Organized by Future Farming Initiative, Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, the Ministry of University and Research, ZERO, and GE Group, the event showcased a bold plan: using Future Farming as a catalyst to regenerate Italy’s industrial base, making it more sustainable, competitive, and future-proof.

Speakers highlighted how Future Farming goes beyond traditional agriculture bridging foodtech, biomaterials, bio-pharma, advanced manufacturing, and the circular economy. It is not just about producing food in new ways, but about creating the foundations of a new industrial paradigm inspired by nature itself.

ZERO and GE Group also presented the Future Farming District in Tuscany, a large-scale project that integrates renewable energy, vertical farming, green hydrogen, and circular aquaculture into one scalable and replicable ecosystem. This district is designed to become a model for how regions can combine innovation, sustainability, and economic growth.

The message was clear: Future Farming is more than a technological frontier; it’s a shared industrial mission for the country. By uniting research, entrepreneurship, and public institutions, Italy can lead the next industrial revolution, creating sustainable value and global impact.
